Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

W.A Mozart is my favorite classical composer. He was born in the beautiful town of Salzburg, Austria in 1759. His father  Leopold Mozart was also a musician who taught his son. Mozart started composing when he was five. and also  he was  known as "Child Prodigy". 


By the time Mozart was ten years old, he had composed his first three symphonies and thirty other works. So music flowed from him unceasingly making him the supreme master of the classical style. and Mozart wrote in every medium of musical compositions of his day and excelled in everyone.

 

So his last years were filled with financial and health problems. but just before the end of his life, a mysterious stranger appeared before him and requested him to compose a Requiem ( a mass for the dead). He died before it was completed and his pupils completed the work and performed it on the day of his funeral. So Mozart died on 5th December 1791.

OPERA

  An opera is a drama sung to orchestral accompaniment. It includes acting, dancing, scenery and costumes. Here the story is revealed through song, rather than the spoken dialogue in ordinary dramas The singing is divided between a soloist or a group of soloists. And the text of the opera is called 'The libretto' and is usually written by a librettist or dramatist, and it is set to music by the composer. A song for a solo voice with orchestral accompaniment is called 'The Aria. Mozart , Wagner , Verdi , and Bizet are some of the versatile composers of the opera.

Erlking

  Erlking is a poem by Johann Von Goethe. The poem has been set to music by several composers. but most notably by Franz Peter Schubert. An anxious young boy is being carried at night by his father on horse back.  The time is unusually late and the weather unusually bad for travel. It becomes apparent that the boy is delirious and the father is rushing him to the medical aid. the son seems to see and hear beings  his farther does not.  but the chooses to comfort his son. the child sees a wisp of fog, rustling leaves, shimmering willows. but  finally , the child shrieks that he has been attacked . the father rides faster. so unfortunately the boy is dead. so this is the story of this song. The song is sung by a single vocalist with the strong piano backing.  So this is the one of my favorite song.
